Intern - Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technology Student at Minnesota Ore Operations (Minntac and Keetac). This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Report directly to electrical maintenance managers and work along-side RCM to improve production at Minntac.
• Apply engineering principles, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to evaluate and make decisions that resolve operational conditions and improve reliability.
• Assist in supervising, directing and coordinating efforts of experienced technicians, craftsmen and project planners to repair and maintain electrical equipment to maximize operating efficiencies.
• Assist in coordinating repairs and preventative maintenance with a team of mechanical and electrical maintenance staff. Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures and maintenance schedules to follow, improve and develop preventative and routine maintenance programs. Devise and implement cost saving strategies.
• Engage in maintenance planning functions to minimize downtime; investigate process improvements and participate in facilities upgrades.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technology.
• Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2027 and be in good academic standing
• Must have at least a 2.75 GPA, will accept 2.5 with experience.
• Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

The salary range of $24-$26/hour is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
