Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancellation. No block scheduling is permitted. The unit has a patient ratio of 1:3-5 with approximately 250 visits per day and 101 beds. The unit will only accept contracts for 13 weeks or longer. 36-48 hours can be offered weekly. Floating is required between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on staffing needs. A minimum of 4 weekend days every 6 weeks is required, which could be as frequently as every other weekend. The patient population served includes neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit utilizes various systems for patient care including Pyxis and EPIC. Interdisciplinary support services are available such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Emergency procedures encountered may include management of acute psychosis, intubation assistance, blood product administration, and care for ventilated patients. Candidates must be willing to engage in a teamwork approach and adhere to behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. All RTO must be pre-approved, and candidates are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays. Floating is expected within the facility based on the job description.
