From cultural offerings and concerts to festivals.ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the proper performance of the equipment.The primary responsibilities and duties of a Mechanic include:Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job duties/tasksAdheres to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or foods safety/quality to management immediatelyAttends and actively participates in daily safety meetingsMonitors line efficiency and performs maintenance activities related to sustaining productivityTroubleshoots electrical/mechanical problems for processing equipment, which includes peelers, washers, cutting equipment, cooking equipment, combination scales, horizontal packaging machines (HFFS), fillers, case erectors, tapers, and codersUnderstands operations of building and grounds maintenancePerforms adjustments and repairs on the utility systems such as 125# steam, air supply, swamp coolers, etcReads and understands blueprintsCommunicating all process inefficiencies, equipment malfunctions, safety concerns and GMP issues to the Maintenance Supervisor and applicable Line LeadOperate SAP computer system as well as other basic computer programsPerforms accurate parts receiving, organization, use and allocation functions in SAPAccurately documents maintenance activities utilizing computer-based maintenance tracking systemReport to management any conditions of practices that may adversely affect foods safety, food quality, or personal safetyPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience preferred.Experience: Combination of a minimum 2 years in the following industries as a Maintenance Mechanic, Technician, or Trainee:Food Processing preferredMilitary service in a technical rating, MOS, or AFSCIndustrial Maintenance Trade SchoolLanguage Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.Licenses, Certificates, Registrations: Food Handler's Permit, Clark County Health DepartmentOther Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, write and speak EnglishLead by exampleGood communication skillsSelf-motivatedAbility to effectively work with others in a team environmentPossess a basic knowledge of the processing, packaging, and material handling equipmentPossess a basic knowledge of the utilities in the plant and be able to maintain the equipmentOne (1) year experience (if applicable) in industrial electrical troubleshootingBasic knowledge of Freon refrigeration systems (if applicable), ammonia refrigeration systems (if applicable), welding and torch cutting, waste treatment equipment, which includes centrifuges, clarifiers, dewatering equipment, and pumpsKnowledge of SAP softwareCertified Forklift and Crane OperatorThe pay range for this position is $23.97 to $32.64 per hour.
