We are seeking a full-time Clinic Radiology/Laboratory Technician for UMC Family Medicine at Orchard Park. This position involves working closely with patients during radiologic imagining procedures and laboratory services.

Essential job functions include demonstrating radiographic skills, laboratory and phlebotomy skills, and the judgment and ability to work independently, along with senior/management responsibilities for equipment/supply maintenance and inventory, billing, and meeting accreditation standards. The technician assists in patient care, obtains diagnostic images, performs biological and chemical analyses, and performs phlebotomy procedures. The position involves giving patients proper instruction, reassurance, and respect, and maintaining radiology supplies and a safe working environment.

Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma, an associate degree in radiologic technology from a CAHEA-approved program, an associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology, AART/TMB certification, and one year of experience as a lab technician/radiology technician. Venipuncture experience and experience in a clinic setting are preferred.

Skills and abilities include excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, experience in medical operations, knowledge of safety hazards and precautions, the ability to shoot and process x-rays, the ability to draw and process labs, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, the ability to meet and maintain quality control standards, the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, and the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with patients and their family.

Physical capabilities include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, adequate hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills, good tactile sensation, and near visual acuity. Environmental conditions include working in a well-lit, heated, and ventilated building, exposure to blood borne pathogens, communicable diseases, and body fluids, and the use of all electrical safety precautions.
