Lead Software Engineer .Net - Healthcare Payments

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 5 years of applied experience.
• At least 4 years of experience managing or leading engineers, including setting technical direction, allocating work, and supporting performance development.
• Experience leading projects from scope definition through production release, coordinating cross-functional teams, timelines, and dependencies while meeting business objectives and technical standards.
• Hands-on experience with a modern object-oriented language such as .NET/C#, including building scalable, maintainable, high-performance applications and applying relevant best practices and design patterns.
• Experience writing, optimizing, and debugging complex SQL queries, including joins, subqueries, and performance tuning, in support of payment-related analysis, troubleshooting, or development.
• Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience guiding the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, and establishing expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security; experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant practices.
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methods, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of financial services and its IT systems.
• Preferred: At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Preferred: Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as JavaScript and React.
• Preferred: Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.

• Deliver products and solutions from requirements definition through launch.
• Lead and manage a team of engineers by providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance guidance.
• Design robust, scalable, and resilient solutions that address current and anticipated business needs.
• Work with Product partners to define scope, prioritize features, and shape the roadmap.
• Collaborate with engineers to turn defined features into production-ready capabilities.
• Use AI agents and AI-assisted tools to solve complex technical problems and accelerate development and troubleshooting.
• Encourage adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. Set consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective approaches.
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to eliminate them or automate their remediation, improving application and system stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and fit with existing systems and information architecture.
