Introduction Our client is a hospital seeking an Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian to join their thriving mixed-animal practice. The hospital treats a diverse caseload consisting of 50% small animal patients, 15% equine, and 35% food animals. The role is open to all levels of experience, including new graduates seeking mentorship. Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while remaining closed on Sundays. Role Description and Responsibilities The position includes examining animals to assess their health and diagnose problems, treating and dressing wounds, performing surgery, testing for and vaccinating against diseases, operating medical equipment such as x-ray machines, advising owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments, prescribing medication, and working collaboratively with team members to provide high-quality care. The role is open to experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates seeking mentorship. Practice Details The hospital provides high-quality, progressive, individualized medical care supported by industry-leading medical and diagnostic capabilities. Services include comprehensive care, preventative services, surgical services, diagnostics, large animal veterinary care for dairy and beef cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas, pet dentistry including oral exams, teeth cleanings, and extractions, end-of-life care, laboratory services, microchipping, nutrition support, an in-house pharmacy, and urgent care. The facility is a full-service hospital serving both small and large animals and has a long-established history dating back to 1963, with a hospital design that was awarded Veterinary Economics Hospital Design of the Year in 1980.
