Transportation Planner

Job Title: Transportation Planner Client: Food Manufacturing Company Duration: 06 Months (Possibility of Extension) Location: Wichita, KS 67202 Shift: Monday-Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Description: Coordinate transportation, shipments, and deliveries between plants, warehouses, and customers. Track and trace daily truck shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. Schedule carriers and manage transportation orders using SAP. Monitor transportation costs, service performance, and key logistics metrics. Communicate shipment updates, delays, and transportation issues with customers, carriers, and internal teams. Coordinate pickups with plants, warehouses, and shipping locations. Build loads, manage unrouted orders, and resolve shipment changes or delivery issues. Support carrier sourcing strategies and manage carrier assignments based on rankings. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to meet customer requirements. Review, log, and approve carrier invoices while ensuring accurate transportation records. Escalate complex transportation issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills: Transportation & Logistics Planning SAP Shipment Tracking & Coordination Supply Chain Management Carrier Management Data Analysis & Reporting Customer Service Communication & Problem Solving Microsoft Office Education: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
