With multiple locations across the region, our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences while supporting our Providers and staff through collaboration, quality, and respect.Position SummaryThe purpose of this position is to provide full-time clinical support across Urology Austin's North Market locations, specifically the Round Rock, Georgetown, and Cedar Park clinics. This role will require travel as needed. The Float Medical Assistant assists physicians and advanced practice providers with patient care and clinical tasks to maintain efficient patient flow and high-quality service. This role is designed to provide coverage as needed for staff absences, high-volume periods, operational needs, and special projects across the North Market.QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent.Certification of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) required.One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.Excellent communication and multitasking skills.Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.Essential Job DutiesFloat between assigned Urology Austin locations to provide clinical support as scheduled.Escort patients to exam or treatment rooms and obtain vitals, allergies, and medication lists.Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests following established protocols.Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and lab processing as trained and authorized.Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and properly sanitized after each patient.Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.Record all patient data accurately in the EMR system.Communicate effectively with providers and site managers regarding daily priorities and coverage needs.Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and dependability in all assignments.Support other clinical staff as needed to ensure seamless patient care.All other duties as assigned.Performance Requirements KnowledgeMedical practice and clinical care standards to assist in providing patient care.Examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.Operation of standard medical equipment and instruments.Infection control, safety, and HIPAA compliance requirements.SkillsPerforming medical assisting tasks efficiently and accurately.Taking and recording vital signs.Maintaining clinical records and completing documentation.AbilitiesDemonstrate compassion and professionalism in all interactions.Prioritize and manage time effectively while floating between clinics.Adapt quickly to new environments and varying provider workflows.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily performed in a clinic office setting with moderate noise and frequent staff and patient interaction. Regular activities include sitting, typing, talking, and hearing, with occasional walking, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment. Minimal exposure to communicable diseases may occur, and periods of stress can arise when handling time-sensitive or sensitive tasks.
