Chief MR Technologist

Job Summary

The pay range for this position is $34.03 - $53.18 based on direct and relevant experience. RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Chief MR Technologist to join our team. This role provides leadership and management to technologists across modalities and/or multiple centers, ensuring professional standards and excellent customer service. The position is full‑time, working daytime shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Imaging (75‑80 %)

• Screens patients before exam for precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
• Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures, providing clear instructions and positioning patients appropriately.
• Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision, supporting patients throughout the procedure.
• Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and utilizes dose reduction techniques as needed.
• Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and peers.
• Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations.
• Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Maintains an orderly work area and promotes safe habits.
• Maintains the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
• Ensures equipment is clean, disinfected, and in good working order after each use.
• Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.

Team Management (15‑20 %)

• Coordinates training and onboarding of new associates.
• Assists in the hiring process for new associates.
• Leads regular team meetings and one‑on‑ones for cross‑modality or cross‑center communication.
• Monitors and approves timecards.
• Initiates and participates in performance reviews and development activities.
• Manages associate schedules to provide planned time off and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements.
• Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies.
• Supports associates to achieve highest patient satisfaction.
• Leads special projects or committees as assigned.
• Develops methods for measuring and monitoring team and department performance.

Other Tasks (5 %)

Completes other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Required

• ARRT‑registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• 5+ years imaging experience with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource and implement process improvements.
• Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography; licensed radiological technologist in the applicable state, if required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Training and experience sufficient to independently perform advanced MRI procedures with highest quality.
• Certification in an imaging specialty.

Preferred

• Bilingual.
• Experience in multiple modalities and/or possessing multi‑modality certifications.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
