Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to become a part of our team at a community hospital located in Leonardtown, Maryland. This facility, with a capacity of 103 beds, is home to a close-knit rehabilitation team eager to welcome an SLP with at least one year of experience following their Clinical Fellowship Year. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently as the primary Outpatient SLP for the hospital.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluation services, which include reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and formulating recommendations while documenting results.
• Communicate evaluation outcomes and treatment plans to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in goal-setting.
• Exhibit expertise in executing treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentations, and the dynamic healthcare landscape.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary, and recognize changes in patient conditions that may require adjustments to the care plan or additional consultations.
• Manage discharge planning and follow-up care effectively, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of patient care activities, including initial evaluations, daily notes, progress summaries, and discharge evaluations.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and meet productivity targets while maintaining an organized schedule.
• Show a professional commitment to facilitating seamless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, and empathetic behavior in a patient-centered environment.
• Take initiative in pursuing continuing education for personal and organizational growth, serving as a clinical instructor for students, and assisting in the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Speech Language Pathology.
• Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY) is required, with one additional year of experience preferred.
• Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, as applicable to your work location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.
• Possession of the ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
