Yard Driver/Driver I

Location: Sumner, Washington — Pay: $27.50 - $30.00 DOE — Job Type: Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a safety‑focused Driver I (Yard Driver) to support our warehouse and yard operations. This position is responsible for moving trailers and containers within our facility and, if qualified, between locations. This is a safety‑sensitive role requiring attention to detail and a commitment to safe work practices. Key Responsibilities Operate a yard tractor to move trailers/containers within the facility Transport trailers between facilities (if holding a valid Class A CDL) Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections (tires, brakes, lights, fuel, etc.) Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed Follow dispatch instructions using RF systems and yard management toolsCoordinate with yard controllers to optimize equipment turn times Direct outside drivers and ensure adherence to yard safety procedures Maintain yard organization and safe driving practices Ensure trailers are properly secured (wheel chocking, door positioning) Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 1+ year of experience operating a yard tractor or tractor‑trailer Class A CDL (preferred for on‑road transport duties) Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable attendance and professionalism What We Offer Opportunity to work with a global logistics leader Safe and supportive work environment Career growth within a large international organization If you are interested, please apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this opportunity. #J-18808-Ljbffr Manpower Group (USA)
