POSITION SUMMARY Pero Family Farms is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join the organization's accounting team. As an Assistant Controller, you will assist the Controller with overseeing and managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company's management team. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a firm understanding of financial regulations, and experience in financial leadership. Requirements PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, internal controls, and financial reporting. Assist in preparing and reviewing timely, accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for the Controller. Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and present findings with actionable recommendations to the Controller. Provide data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements through diligent review and documentation. Support the Controller with audit preparation, facilitation, and review, ensuring all required documentation and reconciliations are accurate and complete. Maintain organized, accurate, and current financial records in accordance with company standards. Collaborate with the Controller to support long-term financial planning, capital allocation, and strategic initiatives. Participate in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes by gathering data, preparing schedules, and analyzing variances. Monitor budget performance, investigate variances, and assist in developing corrective action plans. Support the identification and mitigation of financial risks through effective monitoring and control measures. Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial operations and reporting. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field 3-5+ years’ experience in an Assistant Controller or similar accounting position Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong computer skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Able to maintain confidentiality COMPANY BENEFITS/PERKS 401(k) Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and more Paid Time Off (PTO) The company (Pero) reserves the right to alter, amend, expand or contract these duties and responsibilities as the companies needs evolve. #J-18808-Ljbffr
