IT Security Specialist

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an IT Security Specialist. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Representative duties and tasks include developing and executing security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems. Researches attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures. Maintains hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols. Administers security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include solid knowledge of encryption algorithms, cryptography and cryptographic key management concepts, information technology architectural concepts and frameworks, information technology security principles and methods, security system design tools, methods, and techniques, enterprise information technology architecture, enterprise information technology goals and objectives, methods, standards, and approaches for describing, analyzing, and documenting an organization's enterprise information technology architecture, Personally Identifiable Information and Payment Card Industry data security standards, information technology supply chain security and risk management policies, requirements, and procedures, network security architecture concepts, security models, developing professional expertise, company policies and procedures, resolving issues, independent judgment, professionally executing projects, verification and validation process, cyber security specifications, communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions, recognizing and reporting relevant system security concerns and issues, instructions from immediate supervisor, participating in and contributing to multiple work groups, written and verbal communications skills, creative thinker, good multi-tasker, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, analyzing situations or data, internal/external working relationships, innovative responsibilities, applying AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Combined Salary Range: USD $86,091.00 - USD $93,154.00 /Yr.
