General Summary of Position MedStar Health is looking for a Cardiac Interventional Technologist II to join our team at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital! The Cardiac Interventional Technologist II performs angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures. Responsible for patient management prior to, during, and after the procedure. Primary Duties Performs and assists with complex cardiac and electrophysiology procedures, including angiographic, interventional, and ablation procedures, while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging. Acts as a first assistant to physicians during catheterization procedures, administering contrast media and managing guide wires and catheters in accordance with clinical protocols. Monitors and records hemodynamic data, interprets ECG rhythms, and provides immediate patient care in response to arrhythmias or procedural complications. Manages inventory, orders supplies, maintains accurate records in hospital systems (RIS), and ensures infection control and proper equipment operation. Handles all phases of patient care—from pre-procedural education and lab work confirmation to post-procedural monitoring, discharge, and transport—while supporting departmental goals and emergency response duties. Qualifications Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology of at least 2 years duration. (Required). Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
