Job Title

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Acute)

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours Guaranteed per Week Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients including high-risk cases involving diabetic populations, magnesium drips, and insulin drips
• Follow patients through the complete care continuum for scheduled C-Sections, from pre-op through PACU sign-off
• Maintain staffing ratios per AWHONN standards: 1:1 for patients 6cm or greater dilated or on magnesium/insulin drips; 1:2 for all other patients
• Utilize fetal surveillance systems and perform triage functions, including pre-op preparation for C-Sections
• Document accurately using facility EHR and fetal monitoring systems; administer medications via automated dispensing cabinet
• Work 3–4 twelve-hour weekend shifts within a 28-day schedule, with unit self-scheduling practices in place

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications issued through the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech (PCS and ORM modules) and OBIX fetal surveillance systems
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication administration systems and Solaris IV pumps
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring external versions or cerclage procedures
