Senior Buyer, Nike Sportswear NDDC

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH You will work closely with fellow merchants, buyers and cross‑functional teams within Nike Direct; Digital and Stores Buying, Geo Sport Merchandising, Planning, and Brand Marketing. We also work with Site Experience, operations and the insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting which includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory and consumer behavior. This role is responsible for adopting & curating consumer right assortments with end in mind for the NDDC (Nike Direct Digital Commerce) business by using historical data, analytics and real‑time market feedback to advise the future seasons, while winning today (in‑season read & react/selling). The Merchandising team understands consumer needs and market opportunities to craft the product mix. We blend art with science to bring Nike’s vision to life. The team has the ability to see beyond trends and identify new market opportunities, delivering the right product, at the right price, in the right place, at the right time. The ideal candidate possesses experiences in buying, marketing and/or planning; with a track record of successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, experience generating and managing a multi season journey. Great communication skills and understanding of windows suite and assortment building skills is a must. The candidate is a self‑starter who will take ownership of projects and drive business. Bachelor’s degree in related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training 3+ years’ experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment Strong affinity for current market trends Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience Understanding of common retail key performance indicators and/or digital profit‑based metrics such as sell‑through, turn, Demand, Conversion Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action that shape the future of the business Effective communicator that collaborates and brings people together Values differences and builds strong relationships with high cultural awareness Proven balance of art and science in decision‑making Self‑directed, independent, and dedicated Cultivates innovation while also ensuring accountability Communicates vision and purpose and able to lead effectively in complex situations Solves problems using limited information and implements solutions with the ability to foresee most future implications Advises others on complex matters requiring in‑depth knowledge or conceptual thinking Responds with speed and agility, curiosity, and motivation WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON You will partner on the Men’s Sportswear Footwear seasonal assortment to life on Nike Direct Digital. You will understand related aspects of the business and marketplace in making your assortment strategy and how individual products or collections impact each other. You will collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure assortment plans meet consumer demand and strategies execute. You will hone consumer‑centric assortment plans across multiple seasons with an understanding of Nike Direct’s position in the market & competitive landscape to blend fact‑based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal buy reviews and in‑season trading to influence actions to optimize growth with your critical partners.
