More specifically, some of the Ultrasound Technologists' vital responsibilities include:Performing different types of ultrasounds ranging from OBGYN to VascularAssisting Radiologists with complicated ultrasound biopsiesProducing high quality films for Radiologists to evaluate; maintaining a high degree of accuracy in ultrasound imagingPerforming quality control functions related to ultrasoundEnsuring patient comfort and privacy and educating the patient regarding the examCompleting documentationAssisting in compiling and maintaining statistical dataApplying professional and ethical judgment and critical thinkingParticipating in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skillsQualifications:Completed one-to-two-year Sonography or Ultrasound Technology certification at an accredited institutionValid ARDMS, ARRT, RDCS, or RVT registration as required by state lawCurrent CPR/BLS certificationSkilled in ultrasound equipment operationBasic computer literacyDetail-oriented and able to work as a team memberWilling to participate in 30 Continuing Education Units every three yearsEssential Job Functions:Regular and predictable attendance is requiredRegularly required to move or lift between 50-100 pounds using proper body mechanicsRegularly required to stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling, and reaching to prepare equipment, materials, or objectsManual dexterity and fine motor coordination is requiredMust be able to work in a high-stress environmentMust comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidentialMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facilityWork Environment:FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patientsPotential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous wasteOccasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stressThe Location:Located in southeast Idaho, Franklin County is surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, giving ample opportunity for outdoor recreation.
