1st Shift CNC Machinist

About the Company Dover Precision Components (DPC) is part of Dover Corporation’s Pumps and Process solutions segment. We design and manufacture mission‑critical equipment components for the oil & gas, power generation, marine, industrial, chemical and general processing markets, focusing on affordable, cleaner energy solutions. Job Title CNC Machinist Shift Hours 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday‑Friday Responsibilities Work from drawings, sketches and specifications to complete machining operations. Edit CNC programs to manufacture parts per blueprints. Set up machines to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment. Obtain required inspections on first pieces and perform inspections on work‑in‑progress. Maintain records of time, part counts, inspections, and requisition forms for each job. Make jigs, fixtures and other specialized non‑production devices as qualified and assigned. Perform first‑piece inspections on basic products for other machinists as qualified and assigned. Perform routine preventive maintenance of machines according to the PM schedule. Troubleshoot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material and make competent decisions regarding job at hand. Monitor machine shop equipment and safeguard against improper use or incorrect setups to prevent damage. Detect errors with frequent tolerance and quality checks. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 3+ years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience as a machinist. Proficiency in shop math and blueprint reading. Desired Skills Clear oral and written communication. Organization skills; maintain area clean to 5S standards. Ability to meet productivity standards by completing work in a timely manner. Physical Requirements Walks, stands, reaches, bends frequently; periodic lifting of moderate to heavy items may be required. Normal machine shop environment with periodic noise; exposure to normal machine shop hazards. Operational duties require eye protection, steel‑toed footwear, and occasional hand protection.
