Senior M&A Associate (Cross-Border Focus – Asia/US)

???? Compensation: $310K – $420K+ (Cravath-scale aligned + bonus)
Overview
A top-tier law firm is seeking a Senior Corporate / M&A Associate with strong deal leadership experience to join its New York office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is already functioning at a senior level and is looking for a platform that offers high-end deal flow, international exposure, and a clear path toward partnership or counsel-level progression .
Core Focus Areas
- Mergers & Acquisitions (domestic + cross-border)
- Private Equity transactions
- Venture Capital investments
- Strategic corporate transactions
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transactions end-to-end with minimal oversight
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, including PE sponsors, funds, and founders
- Draft and negotiate complex transaction documents (SPAs, merger agreements, JV agreements, etc.)
- Coordinate cross-border deals involving Asia, Europe, and global counterparties
- Oversee junior associates and manage deal teams
- Work directly with partners on high-value transactions
Ideal Candidate Profile
- ~7–10+ years of M&A / corporate experience
- Currently at an Am Law firm or top-tier boutique
- Demonstrated experience leading deals (not just supporting)
Strong background in:
- Cross-border M&A (Asia exposure strongly preferred)
- Private equity / sponsor-side work
- NY Bar admission (required)
- Law Review or strong academic credentials preferred
