Building relationships with freight carriers, negotiating rates, solving problems when a load goes sideways. What You'll Actually Be Doing Your day starts with a stack of open loads and active carrier relationships to manage. Then you are on the phone. Here is what that looks like in practice: Calling carriers to source capacity for customer freight across North America. Negotiating rates on the spot, sometimes with minutes to spare. Monitoring active shipments and stepping in fast when something goes wrong. Building relationships with carriers so you are the person they call back first. Hitting daily activity targets.
