Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN provides specialized perioperative nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile procedures across various surgical specialties. This role requires skilled intraoperative assistance, including circulating and scrubbing responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare patients and sterile environments for procedures.
• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties for a wide range of surgeries, including vascular, orthopedics, general, ENT, urology, and robotics.
• Proficiently harvest veins and radial arteries, and manage complex surgeries such as AV fistulas, bypasses, and laparoscopic procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, infection control, and patient care standards throughout surgical interventions.
• Assist with prepping, draping, and equipment setup, ensuring readiness and functionality.
• Document all perioperative procedures accurately in patient records.

Qualifications:

• Valid WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in surgical specialties.
• Proven proficiency in vascular, ortho, general, ENT, urology, and robotic surgeries.
• Must have circulating and scrubbing experience, including vein harvesting.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS as required by unit.
• Ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts, including call duties, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.
