DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE? Elaine Ellis Center of Health is looking for registered dental hygienist to join our dental team. Successful candidates will be registered to provide services in both DC and Maryland and have a talent for working with patients presenting to our federally qualified healthcare center. Spanish speaking staff preferred . This position has the potential to do community outreach on our state of the art mobile health unit. EECH offers a 4 day work week with patient care hours Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Specific job responsibilities include:

• Adhere to approved practice standards and protocols from the DC Board of Dentistry and Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners.
• Prepare the treatment room adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Prepare patients for dental hygiene treatments.
• Demonstrate proper maintenance of dental hygiene instrumentation.
• Evaluate patient's oral health and select the appropriate materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit.
• Complete dental prophylaxis by properly cleaning teeth and area below gum margins.
• Complete oral cancer screening and protocols for detecting disease.
• Apply fluorides and other cavity- preventing agents.
