Lab Technician

Overview We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Laboratory Technician for our Fort Myers team. No experience is required and we provide paid training, certification fee reimbursement, and opportunities for growth as you earn your certifications. Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing on construction materials under the guidance of senior technicians. Conduct routine laboratory tests following industry standards and compliance, including safety, quality assurance, and quality control procedures. Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness, calibrate and service equipment, and report any issues. Test soils for Atterberg limits, gradation, swell, moisture, unconfined compressive strength, and proctor tests, and learn to classify soils visually. Test concrete: label, set samples for curing, monitor temperature logs, and break specimens. Calculate and reduce data from test results, document findings accurately, and perform other administrative duties as needed. Career Development Support for enhancing professional skills. Encouragement to participate in internal and external training and certification programs offered by ASTM and other organizations. Qualifications No experience required. High school diploma or GED. Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for concrete or soils. Both certifications may be required if work spans both labs. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Valid driver’s license and insurance. Willingness to acquire knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, or both. Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing). Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors. Military qualification: E‑4 rank meets the above qualifications.
