About the Role Our client is seeking an innovative Formulation Scientist to join their Research and Development department in East London. This role is pivotal in the development of new drug formulations and the improvement of existing ones, ensuring optimal drug delivery, stability, and efficacy. You will work within a state-of-the-art laboratory, collaborating with a team of scientists and technicians to bring novel pharmaceutical products from concept to market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge pharmaceutical development in a dynamic setting. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize novel dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topical preparations). Conduct pre-formulation studies, including characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients. Develop and validate analytical methods for assessing formulation performance and stability. Scale-up laboratory formulations to pilot and commercial manufacturing processes. Prepare formulation development reports and contribute to regulatory submission documents. Stay abreast of new technologies and scientific advancements in pharmaceutical formulation. Requirements Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development. Proven expertise in various dosage forms and drug delivery systems. Proficiency with laboratory equipment for formulation preparation and characterization (e.g., mixers, granulators, tablet presses, dissolution testers). Strong understanding of materials science, physical chemistry, and drug stability principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
