RN - PCU

Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30), with weekend and holiday rotation required.

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse will provide high-level nursing care for patients with complex medical conditions. The unit handles multiple long-term patients and requires a strong foundation in cardiac telemetry and progressive care nursing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage care for patients with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry.
• Administer medications and titrate intravenous drips as needed.
• Provide management and care of peripheral and PICC lines.
• Perform EKG interpretations and manage patients with dysrhythmias.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment as required in PCU settings.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2 years of nursing experience in a Progressive Care Unit or equivalent experience.
• Active RN license required.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Cardiac telemetry experience is necessary.
• Experience with management and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam.
