Distribution Engineer

With almost 40 years of experience, our scalable talent solutions and engineering and sciences services provide the expertise our customers need to achieve more.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kVDevelop overhead, URD, re-conductoring and asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit work packagesDesign complex overhead and underground distribution projects in urban and rural environments in compliance with client's engineering and construction specifications, field engineering of project requirements, identification of conflicting utilities, engineering and design calculations, and programming of protective line equipment.Coordinate small design teams as needed to develop budgets, prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables.Provide clients with engineering assistance during construction, and be available to attend construction meetings, coordination efforts and community outreach as needed.Identify and initiate corrective action when project objectives are not being metInterpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projectsPromote engineering professionalism and standardsDevelop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include all scheduling, resources, and information for complex engineeringSkills and RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institutionMaster's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution will count towards years of experienceTechnical training, certifications, or coursework related to utility design, telecommunications, GIS, CAD, or electric utility infrastructure2+ years of utility, telecom, joint use, or make-ready design experienceExperience in one or more of the followingPole Loading AnalysisTelecom Attachment DesignJoint use or make-ready projects supporting electric utilities or telecommunications providersJETS or DDS software experienceAutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or utility design platformsJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of New Albany, OH.Pay and BenefitsBenefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:Medical, dental & visionCritical Illness, Accident, and Hospital401(k) Retirement Plan – Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions availableLife Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents)Short and long-term disabilityHealth Spending Account (HSA)Transportation benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramTime Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave)The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Workplace TypeThis is a fully remote position.Application DeadlineThis position is anticipated to close on Oct 6, 2026.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
