Role Summary

The Executive Communications Strategist serves as a trusted communications advisor to Enterprise Operations (EO) leaders, helping shape and elevate their internal and external visibility, executive presence, and thought leadership.

This role is responsible for developing strategic narratives, executive positioning strategies, leadership content, social media presence, and communication plans that strengthen leader influence and amplify EO priorities.

Working closely with EO leaders, the EO communications team and key stakeholders, the successful candidate combines business acumen, storytelling expertise, and strategic communications counsel to translate complex business topics into compelling narratives that resonate with employees, customers, partners, and industry audiences.

Operating with a high degree of independence, this individual serves as both strategist and content creator, driving executive visibility through a mix of thought leadership, briefing support, leadership communications, social content, and executive storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Positioning & Thought Leadership

• Serve as strategic communications advisor to EO leaders.
• Develop and evolve executive positioning strategies aligned with business priorities and leadership objectives.
• Build compelling thought leadership platforms and differentiated executive narratives.
• Identify opportunities to increase visibility and influence across internal, external, industry, and digital channels.
• Provide ongoing counsel on executive communications opportunities and reputation-building initiatives.
  
  

Narrative Development & Strategic Storytelling

• Translate complex business, operational, and transformation initiatives into clear and compelling narratives.
• Create communications frameworks and messaging platforms that support long-term leadership positioning.
• Ensure consistency across leadership messaging, themes, and storytelling.
  
  

Briefings & Executive Readiness

• Develop executive briefing materials for internal leadership engagements, customer meetings, industry events, speaking opportunities, and strategic discussions.
• Conduct research and synthesize business trends, stakeholder insights, and audience needs.
• Prepare leaders with key messages, anticipated questions, supporting content, and communication recommendations.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure leaders are informed, prepared, and positioned for success.

Content Creation & Executive Communications

• Draft high-quality content across multiple channels, including:
  • LinkedIn posts
  • Thought leadership articles
  • Employee communications
  • Executive messages
  • Keynote and speaking content
  • Presentation narratives
• Create content that reflects each leader's voice while maintaining alignment with HP priorities and communications standards.

Social & Internal Visibility

• Manage executive visibility strategies across internal and external channels.
• Build and maintain content calendars and communication plans for supported leaders.
• Develop social media content that enhances executive presence and thought leadership.
• Identify opportunities to showcase leadership, innovation, transformation, and organizational impact.
  
  

Stakeholder Partnership

• Collaborate closely with Executive Communications, Corporate Affairs, Internal Communications, business leaders, and subject matter experts.
• Build strong relationships across EO and HP to develop authentic, business-relevant content.
• Serve as a trusted partner capable of influencing without direct authority.
• Support high-priority strategic communication initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, public relations, journalism, content strategy, or a related field.
• Proven experience supporting senior executives and leadership teams.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills.
• Experience developing executive messaging, thought leadership, and strategic narratives.
• Strong understanding of digital communications and executive social media strategy.
• Ability to simplify complex business topics and create engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and influence skills.
• Excellent judgment and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting executive thought leadership and leadership visibility programs.
• Experience partnering with Corporate Affairs, Executive Communications, Media Relations, or Analyst Relations teams.
• Familiarity with enterprise operations, supply chain, digital transformation, sustainability, or technology-related topics.
• Experience supporting executive speaking engagements and keynote development.
• Understanding of communications measurement and audience engagement analytics.

The pay range for this role is $116,150.00 to $191,500.00 USD annually with additional

opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United

States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related

knowledge, skills, and experience.
