Project Manager - DesignSummaryA Tier One Principal Contractor, operating throughout England and Wales, delivering multi-disciplinary buildings and civil engineering projects for Network Rail and other infrastructure clients has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join n their design team in Leeds to support a growing portfolio of works on the Eastern Civils Asset Management Framework, taking charge of the coordination of multiple high volume reactive projects.Working on the Civils minor works projects, the ideal candidate will have experience working in a high pressure and reactive environment.As Health & Safety is paramount to the work we do, you will lead and implement professional safety behaviour and culture throughout the business, promoting positive change in everyday activities in your area of influence.As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:- The coordination of temporary and permanent works design and interfaces within the construction team, for a variety of civil engineering projects including earthworks, drainage and structures disciplines.- Interpret client remits to identify design requirements and agree the scope of works with the client prior to progressing design works.- Liaise with sub-contract design consultants, briefing them on our requirements, and obtain fee proposals for completing the agreed scope of works.- Place sub-contract orders with design consultancies for engineering and temporary works design remits. Orders should be awarded to the most appropriate consultant, based on the competency and value displayed in specific proposals and based on past performance.- Monitor and manage the production of design information against the contract programme, providing client updates via the agreed reporting mechanisms (both internal and client reporting)- Review sub-contract designer's deliverables to ensure designs fulfil the clients remit and comply with the standards and regulations applicable to the contract.- Carry-out a technical review of all documents submitted by sub-contract design engineers and approve / respond as necessary to deliver a design submission in accordance with NwR Specifications and Standards.- Any other duties as may be reasonably required within the Design TeamThe ideal candidate will have:Qualifications:- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering / Building Engineering / Project Management or other relevant engineering subject.- Professional Accreditation (ICE or IStructE) (Desirable) and ready to support others with their development.Experience:- Minimum 5 years experience in rail sector.- 2 plus years' experience working within the railway industry in the delivery & management the delivery of rail projects.- 3 plus years in the delivery and management of Civil Engineering projects.- Experience working as part of a team and coaching less experienced team members.Required Competencies:- Chartered Engineer PTS holder - may have held CEM, CRE (C) or CRE (D) roles in the past- MS Office Skills - Essential- Driving LicenseSalary: Negotiable dependant on level experience plus;- Company Car / Car Allowance- Ad hoc Hybrid working- days holiday + Statutory Bank Holidays- Company Sick Pay- Excellent training & development opportunities, - Healthcare options- Company Pension and Death in Service scheme of 2x annual salaryApply now for further details and immediate consideration for this Project Manager (Design) role.Navartis are an equality and diversity recruitment agent and employer.Service advertised by Navartis are that of an Employment Agency/BusinessDiscipline(s): Rail, Infrastructure & Built EnvironmentJob type: Permanent
