What You’ll Create You’ll help bring the culinary vision of The Canal Club to life, preparing menu items with precision, care, and a commitment to quality. From the first prep task to the final plate of service, you’ll play an important role in creating a flavorful, polished dining experience for resort guests and Scottsdale locals alike. Prepare daily requisitions for food, ingredients, and kitchen supplies. Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and guest requests. Select and use high-quality ingredients that meet our standards for freshness, flavor, and presentation. Follow proper storage, labeling, rotation, and handling procedures, with particular attention to proteins and perishable products. Maintain clean, organized workstations, refrigeration units, and storage areas in accordance with Health Department requirements. Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, and other culinary tools. Support the Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, and culinary team with service, special projects, and day-to-day kitchen execution. Work with urgency, professionalism, and a team-first attitude during busy resort service periods. What You’ll Bring A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; culinary school or apprenticeship training is a plus. A current Maricopa County Food Service Worker card or certification. At least two years of cooking experience in a similar high-volume culinary environment. Knowledge of cooking fundamentals, including sauces, stocks, cooking methods, and recipe execution. Understanding of sanitation practices, food safety standards, and Health Department requirements. Basic math skills for recipe preparation, portioning, and kitchen measurements. The ability to stay organized, focused, and calm while managing multiple priorities. Clear communication skills and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, preferred. A professional appearance and a commitment to the grooming standards of a luxury resort environment.
