About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have 1 year of recent experience. License: Wisconsin or Compact License required. Pending licenses may be accepted at submission. Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required. Pending certifications may be accepted at submission. Must-Have: Ability to interpret and sign off on telemetry strips. Two supervisor references required. Description: The position involves working in a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The nurse will float to Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) if needed, working within their skill set. The schedule consists of 4 shifts of 12 hours during the night. Every other weekend duty is required. Candidates should have an understanding of blood product administration, isolation precautions, and non-invasive airway management. The patient-to-nurse ratio during nights is typically 6:1. Daily, the unit serves adult and geriatric populations. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services. Successful candidates will have experience with charting systems like Epic. Skills in starting and maintaining IVs and management of dysrhythmias are essential. Reference checks will be conducted following acceptance of the offer. Certification in NIHSS must be completed during compliance.
