Job Description

Metrology & Calibration Quality Technician The Mission

Join a growing automotive manufacturer in Indianapolis and be the hands-on guardian of measurement integrity, product compliance, and continuous improvement.

You Will

Support the site’s quality management system and customer-specific requirements
Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections; execute testing and containment
Own the calibration system for gauges and inspection equipment; ensure on-time compliance
Run shipping audits to confirm packaging, labeling, traceability, and documentation accuracy
Manage nonconforming materials and implement defect containment activities
Perform incoming verification on raw materials and purchased components
Lead problem-solving using 5 Whys and 8D methodologies
Assist with internal and process audits; contribute to CI initiatives
Maintain complete and accurate quality records
Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve issues
Support new product launches and sample part builds

You Have

Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
2+ years in a manufacturing or quality role (automotive preferred)
Knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans preferred
Experience managing calibration; strong with micrometers, calipers, and related tools
Familiarity with SPC and basic statistical/data analysis
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Detail orientation, clear communication, and solid problem-solving
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QMS software

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Position Type: Full-Time, Evaluation Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: $26.00–$28.00 per hour
