Assistant Server

The AM Server Assistant with F&B 575 at Aman New York maintains all dining room environment and equipment, assists server s , anticipates guests’ needs and addresses them accordingl y .  

This position has an hourly rate of $17 + Tips. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Check assigned station before, during and after shift for proper set up and c leanliness .  

• Responsible for the completion of designated side work checklists (both opening an d  

closing) .  

• Responsible for keeping the dining room floors free of debris and spilled liquids.  

• Bus tables and re-se t tables for the next guest. Pick-up clean linen for service and   

d rop off soiled linen for washing to determined area.  

• Always provide excellent service to all our guests .  

• Assist g uest s courteously and efficiently.  

• Maintain the cleanliness of the dining room and station at all times.  

• Keep chairs and banquettes clean and clear of debris.  

• Handle customer requests in a timely manner .  

• Set up side station with sugar bowls, water pitche r s, bread, and butter etc . a s  

established in the side work sheet.  

• Ensure all silver ware is polished and spotless.  

• Follow the cleaning program for the restaurant established in the side work sheet.  

• Upkeep and clear tables between courses throughout the meal .  

• Delivery of food from kitchen to guest’s tables, including tray service .  

• Assist in setting up tables according to floor plan.  

• Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything.  

• Attend all food and beverage training classes when requested .  

• W ish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.  

• Must be aware at all times what type of water each guest in their station is drinking.  

• Make coffee, tea, and hot beverages for guests.  

• Place all to go food in appropriate containers .  

• Attend daily pre-meal /communication meeting.  

• Attend monthly department meeting.  

• Communicat e with all server s and server assistants in a professional manner.  

• All other responsibilities assigned by Management.  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS  

• Open availability
  • Able to commit to shifts as early as 6:30am. 
• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.  

• Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.  

• Be a self-motivator and motivator of others.  

• Work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner .  

• Have good knowledge of food and beverage preparations.  

• Be able to relate to all levels of guests and management.  

• Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.  

• Have excellent communication and organization skills.  

• Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.  

• Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest.  

• Have the ability to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.  

• TIPS and ServSafe Certified .  

• Must be comfortable with exposure to the elements, as some duties may require outdoor work or exposure to varying weather conditions.  

• Ability to carry, push, and pull heavy loads up to 50 lbs ; standing, bending and lifting will be required .  

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time .
