The COTA provides Occupational Therapy services to students with a range of fine motor and sensory needs both in and out of the classroom under the guidance of a district Occupational Therapist and building‑based Special Education Coordinators. Additional responsibilities include: Providing direct 1:1, small group, and in‑class occupational therapy for students Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Massachusetts Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job Environment The work environment is typically a school/classroom setting, occasionally on field trips away from school. Noise level is usually moderate. Physical Requirements Employees regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach and lift up to 10 pounds, and occasionally assist students with standing and sitting tasks.
