Job Summary and Requirements: Provide visionary leadership and oversight to ensure a safe, positive, and high‑performing learning environment that supports students’ academic achievement and social‑emotional development. Supervise and evaluate staff, implement district policies and school improvement plans, oversee curriculum and instructional practices, manage budgets and resources, support student discipline and restorative practices, respond to crises, and foster strong partnerships with families and the community. Lead school‑wide initiatives, facilitate professional development, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The position requires the ability to remain emotionally stable, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professional composure in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and responding appropriately to student needs and unexpected situations. The role also requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; move throughout the classroom and school; and lift and carry materials or equipment weighing 20 pounds or more as needed. Qualifications: Valid teaching license/certificate. Prefer relevant teaching experience. Compensation and Benefits: Salary is based on experience and certification. Benefit options include section 125 health, vision, and dental coverage, subject to plan terms (for employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week). The Assistant Principal serves as a key instructional and administrative leader, working collaboratively with the Principal to foster a safe, inclusive, and high‑achieving learning environment. This role directly oversees daily school operations, student conduct, and instructional leadership—specifically driving teacher growth, data‑driven intervention, and professional learning communities. Core Responsibilities 1. Instructional Leadership & Teacher Evaluations Observations & Evaluations: Conduct formal and informal classroom observations using the state/district evaluation framework; provide timely, actionable feedback to drive instructional excellence. Professional Growth: Partner with teachers to develop individual professional growth plans and support underperforming staff through targeted coaching and improvement plans. Curriculum Implementation: Ensure classroom instruction aligns with district standards and rigorous learning targets. 2. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Facilitation: Lead, monitor, and support grade‑level and subject‑specific PLC teams. Data-Driven Culture: Guide PLCs in analyzing common formative assessments, benchmark data, and student work to inform daily instruction. Collaborative Planning: Foster a culture of collaboration, ensuring teams focus on the four critical questions of a PLC (What do we want students to learn? How will we know they learned it? How will we respond when they don't? How will we extend learning?). 3. Response to Intervention (RTI / MTSS) Intervention Oversight: Lead the school’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS/RTI) team to identify at‑risk students academically and behaviorally. Progress Monitoring: Ensure the fidelity of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and track data to measure the effectiveness of student plans. Collaboration: Coordinate between general education teachers, special education staff, interventionists, and parents to build holistic student support systems. 4. Student Discipline & Restorative Practices Behavior Management: Manage student behavior issues, investigate disciplinary infractions, and assign fair, consistent, and equitable consequences in alignment with district policy. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding behavioral expectations and disciplinary actions. 5. School Supervision & Safety Daily Operations: Oversee daily school supervision schedules, including morning arrival, transitions between classes, lunch periods, and afternoon dismissal. Crisis Management: Assist in maintaining a secure campus, including leading emergency drills (fire, lockdown, weather) and responding to crisis situations. Visible Presence: Maintain a high, positive profile throughout the hallways and cafeteria to build relationships with the student body. 6. After‑School Event Supervision Extracurricular Oversight: Share responsibility for attending and supervising after‑school events, including athletic games, dances, musical performances, and academic nights. Crowd Control & Safety: Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, families, and visiting community members during evening hours. 7. Testing Coordinator Test Administration & Logistics: Plan, schedule, and oversee the administration of all standardized tests (e.g., state assessments, ILearn, ILearn Checkpoints, NAEP, etc.). Security & Compliance: Ensure absolute compliance with state, district, and national testing protocols. Maintain the security of all testing materials before, during, and after administration. Training & Support: Train teachers and staff on proper test administration procedures, security protocols, and ethical testing practices. Accommodations Management: Collaborate with the Special Education and 504 teams to ensure all students receive their legally mandated testing accommodations. Data & Inventory Management: Account for, track, and securely store all testing booklets, digital logins, and materials. Coordinate the prompt return or destruction of materials as required. Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues (especially for digital testing platforms) and procedural questions during testing windows. #J-18808-Ljbffr
