The Project Controls Analyst is a key point of contact for numerous internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for all aspects of the position as outlined below.This position is open to candidates throughout the Great Lakes, Midwest, Mountain or West regions.Your Key ResponsibilitiesProvide budget, contract, and financial management support to Project ManagersAssist Project Managers with maintaining the life cycle of projects per client requirements and company guidelinesCoordinate with project accounting staff to ensure invoices are submitted per established timelines and contractual requirementsAudit project management reports for financial impacts and provisions for gross profit optimizationAssist Project Managers with monthly forecasts and financial estimatesSupport Project Managers with project/program enterprise structures (i.e.: Work Breakdown Structures, and Cost Breakdown Structures) as part of project budgeting and setupPerform and manage all budget and cost control functionsPrepare month-end reports, variance reports, and ad hoc reports as requiredPerform analytics and interpret project/program data for continuous improvementComplete financial reconciliations as requiredMay train, manage, or mentor othersAdministrate the use of Project Management Information Systems in areas such as budget/cost control, document control, and reportingYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience is required in all aspects of budget and cost controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and earned value managementUnderstanding contract termsWorking knowledge of project accounting methods and requirementsUnderstanding of principles and methods related to Earned Value ManagementAbility to functionally coordinate with both internal and external business processes and to blend the requirements of bothProficient in mastering the use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically desired: expertise in MS Excel)Experience with MS Project and SQL /SharePoint Applications is a plusMust be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skillsExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Ability to see the "big picture" and use common sense to make decisionsWell-developed interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to build trusting, long-term relationshipsExperienced in working with and providing support to diverse groups at all levels of managementEducation and ExperienceRelevant technical college graduate or a BS degree, or equivalent experience3 years of experience in project/program controls, project management, or project accounting positionExperience working in a consulting or project management environment is strongly preferredTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
