Buyer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Buyer for a contract position with a Global Manufacturing Company located in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. Pay: $35.00 per hour This role is responsible for supporting the procurement of materials, products, and services needed for company operations. The Buyer will focus on placing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and tracking deliveries to ensure items are received on time and meet cost and quality standards. Responsibilities Create and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions Review and approve auto generated requisitions Review supplier order confirmations and update Oracle accordingly Expedite past due and urgent orders with suppliers to prevent production delays Order parts and materials to support Aftermarket demand Create and manage intercompany inventory transfer requests Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Inventory teams Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules Monitor open orders and follow up proactively to ensure on time delivery Verify order accuracy and resolve discrepancies involving quantity, pricing, or quality issues Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure data integrity within the ERP system Assist with supplier evaluations and help maintain the approved vendor list Coordinate with internal departments to resolve order related issues Support cost control initiatives by reviewing pricing and identifying savings opportunities Ensure all purchasing activities follow company policies and compliance requirements Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in business or supply chain preferred 0-2 years of purchasing, administrative, or supply chain experience Basic understanding of purchasing or inventory processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP experience a plus Desired skills Ability to manage multiple open orders and priorities Basic negotiation and cost-awareness skills Clear communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders Basic negotiation and problem-solving skills Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Data entry accuracy Benefits Access to hundreds of clients, most who have been working with Genesis10 for 5-20+ years The opportunity to have a career-home in Genesis10; many of our consultants have been working exclusively with Genesis10 for years.
