Assistant Store Manager

Location: Newnan, Georgia We are one of the largest retail operations dedicated to providing Pet Parents with the best selection of pet care items and passionate customer service. Join the Pet Supermarket team to help pets and their parents and make a difference in our community. Responsibilities Ensure proper care of all pets in store as outlined in the Animal Care Manual. Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace, including conducting oneself appropriately in verbal, written, and electronic communication. Partner with the Store Manager in providing guidance and direction to the store team in the areas of customer satisfaction, associate development, inventory control, human resources, safety, loss prevention, and expense control to operate efficiently and profitably. Accountable for financial results, operational metrics, operational standards, and human resource management for assigned areas of responsibility. Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; follow up on work results. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Provide continuous feedback to associates by recognizing and rewarding successful performance and addressing performance‑related problems. Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment. Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and following all company policies and procedures, including operational and merchandising direction communicated from Corporate Office. Schedule Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes the following: 2 evening shifts per week 1 full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every three weeks Saturday and Sunday twice a month Flexible work schedule that may include morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays Minimum of 40 hours per week Benefits Competitive pay Full‑time benefits & 401K Vacation & Sick time Employee discounts Flexible schedule Room for advancement Qualifications Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle At least 3+ years of management experience in a retail establishment Working knowledge of POS systems preferred Strong sales ability Employee Management and Development: Inspire and engage employees, motivate the team to succeed, lead by example, observe and coach employees on sales techniques and customer service, develop and execute individual development plans, and delegate tasks for growth and promotion Pet Supermarket is an equal opportunity employer and a Drug‑Free Workplace.
