Exciting Opportunity for a Mammography Technologist Job Description: - Join our dynamic team as a Mammography Technologist and make a significant impact in the lives of patients! - Perform mammography examinations in line with ACR requirements. - Assist with vital procedures, including: - Breast ultrasound - Stereotactic biopsy - Breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures. - Conduct diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations for patients of all ages, from adolescents to geriatrics. - Manage mammographic imaging for breast needle localization and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup. - Provide exceptional patient care by delivering immobilization devices, selecting the appropriate technical factors based on individual needs, and operating complex equipment. - Ensure accurate patient film identification through correct marking and initials. - Develop exposed x-ray films using established processing methods. - Complete patient requisitions in accordance with established protocols. - Participate in quality control processes, documenting critical tests and maintaining compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations. - Engage in patient education, offering BSE instruction and pre/post-procedure information. - Prepare imaging cases by organizing charts and films ahead of appointments. - Compile essential statistics regarding patient follow-ups, biopsy tracking, and ultrasound examinations. - Maintain detailed documentation in the Breast Center chart concerning patient care and quality control compliance. - Adapt care delivery to meet the unique needs of diverse patient populations, including considerations for age, culture, language, and disabilities. - Foster communication with patients and caregivers in an understandable manner (developmentally and educationally appropriate). - Embrace other duties or projects as assigned. - Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Required Skills & Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist. - Proficient in screening and diagnostic mammograms. - Experience in stereotactic breast biopsy and bone density is a plus. - Strong interpersonal patient care skills; familiarity with EPIC is an asset. Required Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Required Certifications & Licensure: - Must have ARRT certification. - Must obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment. - Active New Jersey State license in Diagnostic Radiology. - CPR and BLS certification. Schedule Notes: - Shift: 4x10 or 5x8; 40 hours per week. - Weekend work may be required as needed.
