Safe House Corp. is a growing physical-security and technology integration company serving commercial clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. We design, install, and support access control, video surveillance, intrusion alarms, audiovisual systems, networking, and structured cabling.

We are seeking an experienced Access Control Specialist to install, configure, troubleshoot, and service commercial access-control systems. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and physical sides of access control—from low-voltage wiring and system programming to readers, controllers, locking hardware, and door functionality.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, program, test, and service commercial access-control systems
• Install and connect controllers, card readers, credentials, door-position sensors, request-to-exit devices, power supplies, and related equipment
• Work with electric strikes, magnetic locks, electrified panic hardware, automatic door operators, and other electronic locking components
• Pull, terminate, label, test, and document low-voltage cabling
• Diagnose wiring, power, network connectivity, programming, and door-hardware issues
• Configure users, permissions, schedules, access levels, alerts, and system integrations
• Integrate access control with video surveillance, intercom, alarm, visitor-management, and network systems
• Review plans, door schedules, wiring diagrams, scopes of work, and manufacturer documentation
• Perform site surveys and identify equipment, infrastructure, and installation requirements
• Coordinate with project managers, locksmiths, electricians, general contractors, IT teams, and client representatives
• Complete system commissioning, testing, documentation, and client training
• Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, programming, field changes, and service performed
• Follow company quality standards and all applicable jobsite and safety requirements
• Travel throughout the Bay Area and occasionally to projects outside the region

Preferred Experience

• Professional experience installing and servicing commercial access-control systems
• Strong understanding of access-control wiring, relay logic, power requirements, and network connectivity
• Experience with door hardware, including electric strikes, magnetic locks, electrified panic hardware, request-to-exit devices, and door-position switches
• Experience with Verkada, Genetec, HID, LenelS2, Brivo, Avigilon Alta, or comparable platforms
• Familiarity with video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercoms, networking, or structured cabling
• Ability to read floor plans, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and door schedules
• Experience commissioning systems and training end users
• Manufacturer certifications, OSHA training, lift certifications, or applicable low-voltage credentials are a plus

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a clean, insurable driving record
• Reliable transportation during the initial 90-day period
• Ability to pass any required background screening
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a project team
• Professional communication and client-service skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, reliable installations
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and active construction sites
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Availability for occasional travel, schedule adjustments, and after-hours work when required by a project
