General Position Summary At Lids, our Assistant Store Managers are the heart and soul of the Lids brand. They foster passion for sporting and fashion goods by meeting the needs of customers while ensuring all areas of the store are engaged. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for every aspect of the retail store performance, including achieving key results, creating a fun and inclusive environment for their team, and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities People & Training Act as Manager on duty for scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc., when Store Manager is not present. Manage store associates through training programs, goal setting, and regular follow‑up. Administer progressive discipline steps, including verbal and written warnings. Engage team members to create a productive environment and help them understand how their work supports company objectives. Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by establishing supportive working relationships and adhering to brand standards. Responsible for scheduling and staffing the store, including calling in associates for unexpected peaks when the Store Manager is not present. Assist in recruiting and training personnel on store operations and procedures. Encourage compliance with company policies, procedures and guidelines for safekeeping of inventory, funds and property. Other duties as assigned. Customer Experience Lead and execute Lids selling strategy to achieve KPIs and sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service. Resolve customer feedback and address issues immediately, including escalations and urgent requests. Ensure customers are offered Lids membership programs or special in‑store offers when live in store. Adhere to current visual guidelines, including merchandising, signage and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the Company Dress Code Policy. Operations Execute company‑level directives, promotions and initiatives from HQ. Adhere to policies and procedures manual to maintain a safe environment. Maintain store technology and equipment, conducting daily audits and ensuring functionality. Maintain store facilities and supplies by executing service requests and replenishing supplies. Manage cash accurately, including opening and closing the till, counterfeit protection and bank drops. Prepare store for inventory audits and support them as needed. Open and close the store per operating procedures. Product & Inventory Management Protect company assets within LIDS retail policies. Assist in preparing store work schedules within wage control guidelines. Accurately manage inventory, including receiving, transferring, price changes and product counts. Organize backroom strategically to maximize efficiency. Execute optimal layout and visual merchandising, including window activations, hardware flips and seasonal changes. Maintain day‑to‑day VM and store actions such as product recovery, restock and minor VM changes. Execute special pricing signage and promotional adjustments during operating hours. Qualifications Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in a professional manner. Ability to work unsupervised. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, scheduled hours, and experience, among other factors.
