Travel RN - Telemetry - Stepdown

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical Stepdown position at a Level II Trauma Center in St. Joseph, MO, requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Job Details

• Surgical Stepdown unit in a 352-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center,
• Patient ratio of 1:4,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30),
• Epic EMR required; prior Epic experience preferred,
• Floating may be required to units of similar or lower acuity,
• Free on-site parking available,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license acceptable but must be in hand prior to start,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Level II Trauma Center experience required,
• BSN preferred,
• Travel nursing experience preferred,
• Skills required include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, peripheral line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (non-titrating), wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, and ortho trauma care,
• Two professional references required for consideration,
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Care for a diverse surgical stepdown patient population including cardiac, neurological, genitourinary/renal, orthopedic, bariatric, and plastics cases,
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a reduced pay rate,
• Former employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel nurse,
• No RTO is submitted with profile - RTO requests must be disclosed at time of submission,
