Dean, we are committed to building the next generation of technical leaders in electrical, engineering, and cybersecurity industries.We are seeking a Tech Specialist 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets. ResponsibilitiesAnalyze system performance and recommend improvementsProvide support to the system administration teamUsing advanced knowledge of networking principals and system administration skills to troubleshoot systems and operating systemsCommunicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors and system administratorsTrain system users and other system support personnelAnalyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changesTroubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actionsOrganize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysisPerform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updatesConduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systemsProvide on site system support post deploymentRead and interpret engineering drawingsUnderstand SOP and SOW documentationEnsure test lab equipment is maintainedInterface with engineering team to ensure design efficiencyInterface with internal and external customersConduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenariosRead blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW).Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issuesAnswer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job siteConduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems).Perform all duties with minimal direct supervisionSystem Design and Oversight: Reviewing security system designs and providing technical guidance to design teams.Risk Assessments: Conducting assessments of locations to identify vulnerabilities in technology, hardware, and architecture.Scope Development: Creating detailed scopes of work for intrusion alarms, electronic access control, video management systems, custom CCTV installations, and locking door hardware.Planning and Execution: Developing project schedules and resource plans, tracking progress, and resolving issues to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Installation and Configuration: Overseeing system setup by coordinating with security integrators, construction teams, and external vendors.Commissioning and Turnover: Managing system testing, acceptance, and stakeholder training for intrusion, access control, and VMS operations.Compliance and Communication: Ensuring adherence to local regulations and privacy standards, and providing regular status updates on project progress and budget.QualificationsEducation/Position Requirements:High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems orAssociates with 8+ years of experience orBachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience orMaster's Degree with 3+ years experienceSystem administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensionsVendor certifications for electronic systems preferredReliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customerAbility to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekendsAbility to travel What we offer:A collaborative team inspired by the way engineering and innovation enhance customer outcomes, improve lives, and change the world for the better.
