In Pain Management at PeaceHealth, you'll work closely with providers and patients over time, helping people regain function, improve quality of life, and navigate some of their most challenging health experiences.Why this role, and why now?Build real relationships with patients who return regularly and trust their care team.Be part of a specialty practice where continuity of care matters and your work has a visible impact on patient outcomes.Work side-by-side with experienced providers in a collaborative clinic environment where communication and teamwork are valued.Use both your clinical and patient-care skills every day, balancing hands-on care with meaningful patient interaction.Join a stable, mission-driven healthcare system committed to investing in caregiver wellbeing, growth, and professional development.What You'll DoAs a Medical Assistant in our Pain Management clinic, you'll play an important role in helping patients feel informed, supported, and prepared throughout their care.You will:Welcome patients and prepare them for their visit.Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and current concerns.Assist providers during examinations and procedures.Administer injections and medications as ordered.Apply dressings, splints, and provide basic wound care as directed.Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms.Clean, maintain, and sterilize equipment and supplies.Support care coordination by helping schedule tests, procedures, and follow-up visits.Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.Answer and route patient phone calls to appropriate clinical team members.Assist with specimen handling and transport as needed.Collaborate with providers, nurses, and clinic staff to ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care.What You'll BringRequired EducationCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, orCompletion of an accredited Medical Office Assistant program that qualifies you to sit for the MOA certification exam, orCompletion of a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program.Required CredentialsCurrent Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential, orCurrent Washington State Medical Assistant-Interim Certified credential with ability to obtain full MA-C certification within 12 months of issuance.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Preferred ExperienceAt least one year of experience working in a medical office or ambulatory clinic setting.National Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred.Key StrengthsAbility to create a welcoming and supportive experience for patients.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organization and time management.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.Commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality, and compassionate care.Comfort using electronic medical records and standard office technology.Nice to HaveWe know life happens outside of work, and we value caregivers who bring diverse experiences and perspectives to our team.
