Job Title: Federal Work Study Student: REC- Administrative Assistant Agency East Texas A&M University Department Campus Recreation Proposed Minimum Salary: Commensurate Job Location: Commerce, Texas Job Type: Student Worker Job Description Summary of Responsibilities: Reconcile and verify daily cash deposits, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional office environment. Assist with ordering, organizing, and maintaining office and program supplies. Assist with departmental asset inventory, equipment tracking, and inventory management systems. Complete administrative tasks including scanning, filing, copying, data entry, and document preparation. Prepare, organize, and maintain digital and physical records while ensuring confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Utilize Microsoft Office and other university software (Outlook, Word, Excel, databases, and internet-based systems) to maintain records, generate reports, and communicate effectively. Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and meeting preparation as assigned. Assist professional staff with administrative projects, special events, and departmental initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve office organization and administrative processes. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while meeting assigned deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned. Department Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming and assisting Campus Recreation participants, answering questions accurately and professionally, addressing concerns in a courteous manner, and creating a positive, engaging environment for all patrons and participants. Market Campus Recreation and area events. Demonstrate a commitment to providing an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, supported, and respected as they work to pursue their academic and professional goals. Attend all department and area trainings and meetings as assigned. Keep up to date on all TrainTraq assignments. Be prepared to encounter and respond to various hazards, with training provided to ensure safety and proper handling of potential risks. Maintain a standard of conduct while participating in Campus Rec activities or facilities, serving as a role model for other patrons by adhering to all safety, behavior, and policies. Assists with department events and programming as needed. Work early morning, night, and weekend hours as needed. All positions are security-sensitive. Must be awarded federal or state work-study through Financial Aid May work up to 19 hours per week during the semester May work full-time during breaks and summer if returning in the fall Must not work during scheduled class times Positions are limited to the amount awarded and must follow program guidelines Graduate assistantships offer opportunities to teach, conduct research, or assist in academic departments while continuing your graduate education.
