Director, Outcomes Research

Role Summary The Principal Scientist/Director, Value & Implementation (V&I) Outcomes Research resides in the V&I organization—which includes Global Medical and Scientific Affairs as well as Outcomes Research. Under the guidance of a senior leader, you will support value evidence outcomes research plans and real‑world evidence activities for in‑line and pipeline products, meeting the needs of clinicians, payers, policymakers, health technology assessment (HTA)/reimbursement agencies and health systems worldwide. Plan and execute prospective and retrospective observational studies to characterize disease burden, epidemiology, treatment patterns, health‑care resource utilization, costs, physician and patient satisfaction, and clinical and patient‑reported outcomes. Conduct systematic reviews, meta‑analyses, and economic modelling. Develop American Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossiers for U.S. payers and Global Value Dossiers for local subsidiaries’ HTA submissions. Contribute to product development and marketing strategies throughout the lifecycle to ensure optimal market/patient access and reimbursement. Work cross‑functionally with clinical development, medical affairs, biostatistics, market access, commercial, and country affiliates; may interact directly with HTA agencies, reimbursement decision makers, and national immunization technical advisory groups. Responsibilities and Primary Activities Partner with Medical Affairs to develop, execute, and deliver the V&I plan. Drive reimbursement and market access for the program and indications under responsibility. Assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and market access and provide input into clinical, regulatory, payer/access, marketing, and evidence generation strategies. Design studies, author protocols, develop measurement questionnaires, case report forms, data analysis plans, final reports, scientific presentations, and publications. Manage study contracting, budgets, vendor/partner relationships, and ensure alignment with company policies, SOPs, and global regulations, including Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practice (GPP). Develop AMCP dossiers and Global Value Dossiers, and supplementary clinical data packages for HTA submissions. Support country affiliates to understand local evidence generation needs, adapt health‑economic evaluations, and customize outcomes research documents. Communicate outcomes research and health‑economic modelling data internally and to external stakeholders. Stay aware of new scientific and methodological developments within the therapeutic area. Build relationships with scientific experts worldwide and present data at national and international congresses; publish in scientific journals. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in health services research, outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, health economics, pharmacoeconomics, or pharmacy administration. Four or more years of post‑degree experience. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD, PharmD) in a relevant discipline.
