Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Floor (MS) Iowa City, IA. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care on a Medical Surgical unit, focusing on pulmonary and general medical-surgical patients. It offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment across multiple campuses, serving diverse patient needs with a focus on pulmonary and ventilated care, including patients on Bi-Pap or trach care. Job Details Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association or ARC/AMERICAN RED CROSS, Iowa licensed or multistate license, and active registered nurse licensure in Iowa required. Education / Experience: 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience required. Pulmonary patient care experience, including ventilated patients, Bi-Pap, trach care, and COVID-19 care, highly preferred. Experience caring for trauma patients (level I, II, or III trauma experience) is highly preferred or required depending on the level. Responsibilities include providing patient care, managing drips such as Heparin, participating in team-based care, and adhering to facility policies. Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
