Acute Care Medicine Registered Nurse

Unit 5500 Acute Care Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (South Campus) is a 25-bed unit. This position offers full-time night shifts (7pm-7am) with 12-hour shifts, a 4/5:1 ratio, and every third weekend rotation. There is a BSN differential available.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities include promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment, educating patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, participating in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, developing, implementing, and documenting individual plans of care with defined goals, using critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care, and ensuring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Minimum requirements include a nursing diploma or associate's degree in nursing, no experience required, and an RN license. Preferred requirements include a bachelor's degree in nursing, less than 2 years of experience, and an RN license.
