Job Description

Requirements:

Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
BLS and PALS certification required
CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) preferred
1+ years of pediatric experience required
Strong family-centered care and pediatric assessment skills

Duties:

Provide nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents across a range of medical and surgical conditions
Perform age-appropriate assessments, monitoring for changes in condition and escalating care as needed
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, accounting for pediatric dosing and safety
Support family-centered care, involving parents/caregivers in treatment planning and daily care
Educate patients (age-appropriate) and families on condition, treatment plan, and home care instructions
Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
Recognize and respond to pediatric emergencies and rapid deterioration
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
Provide developmentally appropriate comfort measures and distraction techniques during procedures
Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed for pediatric populations
