The Senior Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems. This role involves ensuring accurate measurement and control of variables such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, and other process parameters, and works closely with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install, calibrate, and maintain various types of instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems. Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance with industry standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation issues, utilizing analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems into existing processes. Document all maintenance activities, including calibration records and system modifications. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability. Perform calibrations and/or verifications of instruments and equipment to approved job plans, work instructions and/or procedures. Perform testing on electronic components to determine functionality level and capacity. Apply knowledge of instrument, equipment, and loop calibrations used within the CMC’s manufacturing operations, laboratories, and facilities. Exhibit excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Use manual and powered electrical repair and diagnostic tools/instruments skillfully. Complete all cGMP documentation associated with calibration and maintenance tasks. Review calibration SOPs for accuracy during routine calibration or when a new instrument is introduced into the calibration database; create or revise SOPs as needed. Willingness to perform other related tasks. Work with minimal supervision. Operate all mandatory equipment. Must be available for flexible hours, on‑call periods, and overtime as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control systems within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, petrochemical, or utilities. Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control loops, and system integration. Experience with calibration and troubleshooting of sensors, transmitters, and control devices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of process controls and electrical circuitry. Strong computer skills. Proficiency with paperless calibration management software. Self‑driven execution from specifications, drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches. PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Certification in instrumentation or control systems (e.g., ISA, NICET, SACA, CCT). Military experience. Familiarity with PLC programming and SCADA systems. Experience with safety management systems and compliance regulations. Experience performing calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, mass spectrometers, spectrophotometers). Salary and Benefits Salary Pay Range: $29.86 – $40.91 USD Hourly. Additional compensation may include bonus, commission, equity, or other variable rewards.
