Licensed Veterinary Technician

Overview We are seeking a New York State licensed veterinary technician (part-time or full-time) to join our team at our full-service exotics-only animal hospital (no cats and dogs)! Work with four full-time doctors and experienced support staff. We are ideally looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and great communication skills. Responsibilities Client communication and education Assisting veterinarians with exams/procedures Venipuncture Administering medications (injectable, topical, oral) Nursing care Obtain laboratory samples, run in-house tests, and send samples to outside labs Diagnostic imaging Anesthesia and surgical monitoring Patient monitoring and post-op recovery Filling prescriptions and reviewing medications with clients Recording patient history in medical records Providing compassionate exotic pet care Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
